I’m Caleb — ICU/Cath Lab RN turned financial educator for nurses.
After 16 years in the hospital, 40,000+ hours worked, and $2.6M earned… I realized something no nurse was ever told:
Nurses earn enough to retire early.
We simply were never given a plan.
Now I’m on a mission to teach nurses the financial strategies the hospital never will.
In 2009, all I wanted was a job.
I graduated nursing school with the worst combination possible:
An ADN
No Experience
No BSN
No Connection
A newborn at home
A hotdog cart in the back of a cargo van
…and absolutely no idea how to get hired in a terrible job market.

I applied online to hundreds of hospitals in California.
Not one callback.
One day, my dad — a lifelong salesman — said something that changed everything:
“Caleb… you’re applying for jobs, but you’re not trying to get hired.”
He told me to stop hiding behind online applications and start meeting people.
So I did the craziest thing a new grad nurse can imagine:
I drove hospital-to-hospital in that huge cargo van wearing a power suit, sweating through it, introducing myself to nurse managers who probably thought I was insane.
When I ran out of hospitals locally, I began cold-calling hospitals across the country.
Eventually, a recruiter in Rockford, Illinois said yes.
I moved my family across the country and started what would become a passionate, exhausting, eye-opening 16-year nursing career.
And I believed the hard part was behind me.
I was wrong.
Like every nurse eventually learns, the truth hit me fast:
Our schedules drain us
Our bodies wear out
Our pay barely moves
Our benefits are misunderstood
Our retirement planning is nonexistent
And the only solution we’re offered is: “Pick up more shifts.”
So I did.
I worked nights.
I worked holidays.
I worked weekends.
I worked overtime — every single week for YEARS.

I became the ICU nurse who could handle anything:
CRRT
Ventilators
Post-arrest
Post-open-heart
The sickest veterans in the building
But here’s what nobody told me:
Working harder wasn’t building wealth.
It was just burning me out.
By my sixth year in the ICU, I was mentally fried.
Numb.
Exhausted.
Detached.
A mentor pulled me aside one day and said:
“Caleb… you’re done. You need a way out.”
For the first time, I admitted the truth:
I couldn’t keep doing this —
not physically
not emotionally
not financially.
And that’s when the realization hit me:
The hospital is not your retirement plan.
It’s barely your paycheck.
No manager was building my future.
No HR department was protecting my long-term wealth.
No hospital would ever help me retire early.
If I wanted financial freedom…
I had to build it myself.

I did what nurses do best when something matters:
I became obsessed.
Not with clinical skills.
Not with CEUs.
Not with certifications.
But with financial literacy — the one area nurses need most and are taught the least.
And the deeper I looked, the more frustrated I became.
Because everything finally made sense:
Nurses were NEVER taught how to build wealth.
Not in school.
Not in orientation.
Not by HR.
Not by anyone in the system.
We were only taught one thing:
Serve everyone else.
But never ourselves.
That ends now.
I learned:
How retirement accounts actually work
How taxes destroy retirement income
How to protect money from market crashes
How wealthy people build tax-free wealth
PRA strategies
Long-term care planning
Income distribution
Wealth psychology
How $1,000–$1,500/mo can become $1,000,000

The biggest revelation of my life was realizing:
I’ve earned over $2.6 million as a nurse…
and nobody ever taught me how to build wealth with it.
If I had simply saved $1,500/month in the right strategy since 2009…
I’d have $500,000–$600,000 today.
Add a hospital match AND a protected PRA system?
I’d have over $1,000,000 by now.
A million dollars — without any side hustles.
Just consistency.
And THAT is when I made my mission clear:
Teach every nurse the financial strategies that actually work — so you can retire earlier than your body wears out.
My mission:
End financial confusion for nurses
Teach nurse-friendly retirement planning
Replace overtime dependency with wealth-building
Show nurses how to retire by 55
Build a path to tax-free, loss-free income
